Come join us on Saturday, August 19, 2017 for our annual Kidʼs Races! This is a chance for your child to ride on the same course used by the amateurs and professional riders who will be racing the rest of the day. There are four age groups, each of which will start after all the kids in the prior category completes their race. Be sure to arrive early so you can register, get your childʼs race number, and give them a chance to see a race or two!
Age groups and race length
• 3 & 4 year olds – race is ~ 150 meters long
• 5 & 6 year olds – race is ~ 250 meters long
• 7 & 8 year olds – race is ~ 400 meters long
• 9 & 10 year olds – race is ~ 600 meters long
Registration opens at 9am on Saturday and is FREE to all children 10 and under. Registration is located at the Start/Finish line. All participants need to register before their race and get a race number.
KID’S RACE STARTS AT 11:30AM.
The main start/finish line will be near the intersection of Park and Hansell. Age group start lines will be as described below. Kids should be near their start line 5 minutes before the races start. The start line for each age group will be in a different location, so look for a sign along the course with the correct age group label or someone standing on the course looking helpful. Age groups will start down the hill from the main start/finish line. Several announcements will be made prior to the races to remind parents and kids where to go and when to be there. Children can ride any type of bike they like. All kids must wear helmets to race, just like the big kids. Feel free to help your child get started and encourage them along the way, as will the rest of the crowd. This is meant to be fun for everyone, especially the kids, so let us know what we can do to make it more enjoyable for you and your child.
